Should I write the 3rd essay to address a low GPA? 2.9 from UC Santa Barbara in Mechanical Engineering. My GMAT was a 650 and my top choice is UW Foster. My program at UCSB rarely curved grades and the majority of my class were barely on the 3.0 mark if there at all.

Thanks!

Hey,

If by 3rd essay you mean an optional essay, yes. Keep in mind that when you write that essay you don't want to sound as if you're merely making excuses. You need to provide concrete reasons or significant reflection and insight into your performance. You also need to address any doubts or concerns that may be in the reader's mind given your low GPA.
