Looks very good, you have a well rounded profile. LVMH brand will help you in almost all the schools; also the luxury marketing industry itself has an exotic allure to it when put next to the IT/Consulting/IB professionals.

Probably add a couple of safety schools, but I would be very positive about your chances at INSEAD/Booth/Kellogg especially if you have some international experience. IESE might also be worth looking at.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply.

I am targeting these 3 colleges in my first round. Should I give my GMAT again in Nov/Dec and look for a GMAT score of say 740 , and the apply in Harvard and Wharton. Or, is it good enough to target the above 3 B-schools and look for some scholarship opportunities at Booth ad Kellogg?

TIA

Don't bother about retaking the GMAT. If a 710 doesn't get you accepted, 740 also would not have made much difference.

HBS/Wharton are really so competitive that even for strong applicants like you, they are a reach. Obviously, you would never know until you apply, keeping in mind your available resources/time. My point is that rather than the GMAT, focus on your essays, your stories (or poems  ) & present a nice, clear package to the adcom. Again all your picks are top schools, so you might want to apply to some more just to be sure.

Hi purple lashes,

You have a very good profile and you also have a few spikes in your profile, good enough to differentiate yourself from the crowd. 710 is an excellent score for your profile. So focus on your application now. At this stage, you have to be sure that you make your essays most effective and do not make any mistake to hurt your chances.

You have a very exhaustive list of target schools from top 10. Pretty aggressive. You should add some safety schools too. But there are a few things that we'd like to know to help you evaluate your profile better.

1. Have you had any international experience? That would definitely help you with INSEAD and LBS. INSEAD specifically values international work-ex a lot.
2. You have not mentioned your career goals in terms of function, industry and location. The choice of target school will depend a lot on your goals too.

As 'Color Me One' said, it all boils down to your application package now. How you present your stories will decide how you are perceived. You have some good spikes in your profile like: LVMH brand name, a brand launch under your name, books of poems being published (shows your passion).

All the best

Thanks ThinkAdmit,

1) Yes I have been workign constantly with my HQ in Paris and Switzerland for all the media and marketing inputs. I actually handle Marketing for LVMH currently.

2) I have been on a an international trip for an induction program to teh company.

3) I want to build a career in brand management, for a global retail holding. ( i have been working on the brand launches and management since 3 years and now am doing marketing for the biggest luxury house). I will bring in the knowledge of retail in emerging markets to the class. As far as my long term goal goes, I want to retail my own fashion brand one day.

Why are you not considering NYU Stern and Columbia given their thought leadership in the Retail and Luxury space and NYC location. NYU Stern even offers a Luxury Marketing specialization along with having a Luxury and Retail Conference (https://www.stern.nyu.edu/programs-admis ... ry-retail/). Go to https://www0.gsb.columbia.edu/students/o ... ns/retail/ to learn more about Columbia's academic and club offerings along with its conference.

Sure thanks for your input, I can target them as my Round 2 colleges. However, I do not really want to specialize in Luxury, rather marketing and strategy to have a better reach to the employers
