GMAT Algortithm - does this make sense

by LSB » Tue Aug 19, 2008 5:22 pm
740 V47/99% Q45/75%

I received the above score today on GMAT Prep. It begs the question on percentiles. 740 is considered 97% as per mba.com. I understand that the algorithm is quite sophisticated.

But from a high-level ... does a 97 percentile overall not sound wrong in light of a 75/99 Q/V split?

Hi LSB,

the 97 %itle you see makes perfect sense. The total %ile is reflective only of the total score standing relative to scores that other test takers have obtained.
