An Internet supplier has 4 international cables. Each cable contains 4 sub-cables, which in turn are composed of 4 intertwined copper wires. Each cable is color- coded differently - cyan, indigo, magenta, sapphire. What is the average communication transfer rate per international cable last month?

1) The sub-cables in the cyan and indigo cables transferred 48 Gigabytes of information last month.
2) The sub-cables in the indigo and sapphire cables transferred 26 Gigabytes of information last month.

Most of the information in the stem is irrelevant, so I'm not sure why it's there, but we have no information, even using both Statements, about the magenta cable, so we can't answer any question about the sum or average of all four of the cables. So the answer is E.

Statement 1: We are given only C and I information , not sure about other color cables. Insufficient.

Statement 2: I + S = 26, not sure about other two cables. Insufficient.

Both : We have C+I = 48 and I+S = 26 , but we don't have information about M to get the average. Insufficient.

Hence, __E__
