Is it
{C}
?
To find: A B ?
Statement 1:
Sum is 12
4 + 8, 5 + 7,etc
INSUFFICIENT
Statement 2:
(10B+A) - (10A + B) = 36
9B -9A = 36
B-A = 4
Possible combinations : 9&5, 8&4, etc
INSUFFICIENT
Combining...
A+B=12
-A + B = 4
We can solve and get values.
SUFFICIENT

Hi Canbtg,canbtg wrote:what is the value of the two-digit positive integer n?
1)The sum of the digits in n is 12
2)If the digits in n are reversed ,the value of the number formed is 36 more than the value of n
Let N = 10y+x
Statement1: Sum of digits in n is 12
So, x+y = 12
x and y can take multiple values.
Hence insufficient.
Statement2: If the digits in n are reversed ,the value of the number formed is 36 more than the value of n
10x+y =10y+x+36 => 9x-9y =36 => x-y=4
again x and y can take multiple values.
Hence Insufficient.
Combining 1 and 2
X+Y = 12
X-Y = 4
Solving above equation we get x = 8 and Y =4
hence number is 48
Sufficient.
Hence Answer is C
