Hi Everyone,
I finally convinced myself to take up GMAT next year, as a new year resolution
. I've done bachelors in CS and have completed MBA as well right after my bachelors. Decided to pursue it because of very low financial requirements for the course and some personal limitations/choices I had at point of time.
After the MBA, got into a software services firm as a business analyst from campus. But my mind latched onto finance( funny but it happened after the MBA to be honest). So I decided to focus on moving towards finance. Got enrolled in CFA and cleared CFA L1 in June 2013 and thought about re aligning my career(Thought it's better to be late than never doing anything towards the concern). So I have a Bachelors in CS, a general MBA , CFA Level 1 and around 2.5 years work-ex(total and all of it after the MBA).
So here I'm, non-native English speaker but did undergrads in a university where the course work was completely in English and has an avg GPA through MBA, planning for GMAT. I'm hoping to do an MFin/MBA abroad to focus completely on finance or strategy related aspects.
I had few queries about GMAT and the future, 1) Will my low GPA affect the admissions too much? 2) Will my prior MBA affect it too much?. 3) What should i focus on, MFin /MBA?
So towards GMAT, I have taken the Practice1 from GMATPREP app last week, and got a 650(Q49,V32) with around 6-7 days or, 12-14 hours total revision. What's the range of score I should be targeting realistically if I'm planning to take the exam up in Feb/Mar. Verbal I believe that I can concentrate since I was taken aback with the lack of familiarity of the format.
I would really appreciate if anyone can give me some pointers/guidance towards these.
PS: This is my first post in the group!. Hello to everyone!
