Between B and D, B has his usage which is a possessive pronoun. Thus, incorrect.

IMO D

the answer has to be B : Everyone of us has understood that without his helping us

when the emphasis is the action and not the person then we need to use possessive sense

My idea behind choosing him in D over his in B was that helping (ing form) modifies the pronoun him. However, in D I think his help rather than his helping would have been more appropriate.

Please share your thoughts.

us & we are coming side by side. So the best option would be C which is clear and concise
