Naval Architecture Scholarships

by CalvinBrave » Wed Dec 12, 2012 11:58 pm
Hello all,

Scholarships in naval architecture are available in various parts of the world for bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. Naval architects are very much in demand by shipbuilding companies and government institutions. The growth of the shipbuilding industry has created many opportunities. Average earnings of a naval architect are estimated to be at $72,000 per year, as of 2010, with more than $100,000 for the more experienced.

The Lloyd's Register Scholarship for Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture is awarded by the University College London (UCL) for master's students in naval architecture and marine engineering. The scholarship is for €10,000 for a period of one year, or approximately $12,700, as of August 2010. Founded in 1826, UCL is one of the world's leading universities with multiple disciplines. At least 21 Nobel Prize winners have come from this community. Nearly 140 nationalities are enrolled in UCL, accounting for about 34 percent of its population.
