Hello,

Can you please evaluate my profile:

I am an Indian guy having two years of experience in IT sector. I am interested in Full time MBA programs of finance. I want to apply for jan 2010.

Education Qualification-

Bachelors in technology( computer science)
Gmat score -640(44/34) awa-4.0

Interested universities-- Univ. of IOWA (tippi)---First preference
University of Ohio
University of Texas, Austin

Extra Curricular activities--

1) Active member of two NGO's of India from 2007.

2)National Stock Exchange (India) Certified in financial domain

Do I have chances of admission in the above universities ? thanks

Hello,

So far it looks like you’re on target with the school selection, except for Texas, which I think will be out of range. Given your industry and demographic groups, which tend to be over-represented and where higher GMAT is the norm, I believe you’d need a higher GMAT to be a viable candidate at Texas. Luckily, there are many other excellent programs to consider in the range where you’d be competitive.

Hello,

Sure. I’m referring to schools such as Indiana, Rochester (Simon), Emory, Georgia Institute of Technology, Minnesota (Carlson), and so forth. This list contains a range of competitiveness, to be sure. All these programs have a lot to offer; it will take some research on your part but I’m sure you can find several schools in this broad range that meet your needs.
