Hello....
I gave the GMAT on 18th Aug 08, and scored 730 (96%) : Q-50 (94), V-38(83)
But my AWA score is what let me down. I scored a dismal 4.0.
This was my first attempt at GMAT and had prepared for around 1 month.
I intend to apply for admission to MBA colleges this year and was targetting the top 20 universities. I have had a sound academic background throughout. I had also been awarded National level scholarship by the Govt. of India for my performance in thier talent search exam.
I graduated from Indian Institute of Technology(the top engineering college of India) in 2005 with a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. MY CGPA was 8.34/10.
I have been working as a Field Engineer with Schlumberger(a leading oilfield service company) for over 3 years now.
I have read at some places that most MBA colleges are fine with the AWA score as long as it is above a certain minimum. However, I am not really comfortable about this 4.0. Would this score raise red flags on my application
Is there an option of getting my AWA section re-evaluated?? Is it advisable??
Regards,
Vikas
