Hi MGMAT experts, test-takers,
I have a query on MGMAT tests.
If I am working on a test and the network connection goes down, what happens? Suppose the connection goes down and comes back after an hour, will the timer on the page keep on running(and subsequently expire) or I can carry on from where I left? I intend to have the actual GMAt timing settings for the tests.
Please help urgently as am planning to give a mgmat test tomorrow.
cheers

Hi,
I just took the first MGMAT test 2 days back. Had a similar concern with a slow network connection but then observed that once you click on the confirmation button, the timer stops and does not start until the next page/question is loaded. So you will not end up losing any time even if the page takes 15 seconds to load. The only issue I had was that it breaks the rhythm and concentration.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.

Hi, sorry I'm just seeing your post now. Received a PM asking me to respond.
I don't actually know the answer to your question. If you have any technical questions (or problems!), please contact tech support immediately: [email protected] or 800.576.GMAT during business hours.
abc, lots of my students tell me they think our quant section is tougher than GMATPrep or the real test. The primary reason, I think, is that we don't offer experimental questions. On the real test, experimentals are randomly assigned, so the higher you're scoring, the more likely you are to get experimentals that are "below" your level. The result is that you get some mini "breaks" in the middle of the section - easier questions that you can do more quickly and without as much brain power. But you don't get that luxury on our tests.
A secondary reason is that some of our problems are just a little too tough / time consuming.
The good news is that my students tell me this makes them even better prepared for the extreme timing pressures on the quant portion of the exam. They learn to let go of a problem when it's Just Not Happening.

Hi Stacey,
Thanks for the reply. Hope I dont have to face the network problem :)
And regards the difficulty level of MGMAt tests, I have learned a few math tips and tricks from these tests. I would rather stress myself on MGMAT tests than on main GMAT.
The quant questions are not difficult, its just that they have multiple levels and hence time consuming.
cheers
