12^n is divisor of 3176793
12 is even number, and 3176793 is odd
thus 12^n should be 1 (and thus n=0)
n^12 - 12^n = -1
Good problem- Exponents

i spent 15 mins for this question because it is not understandable from the question stem that 12.n is explonantial!! so it is NOT 12n but 12^n.

You are right. I wonder how Cans deciphered 12n as 12^n ?Ozlemg wrote:i spent 15 mins for this question because it is not understandable from the question stem that 12.n is explonantial!! so it is NOT 12n but 12^n.

it is for the latter ... so you can ignore

Posting the question correctly:

How can 12^n (n=+ve number) be a divisor of ____3, an odd number ?
I am not sure whether the question makes sense. The only possible value that I see is n=0. but n is non-negative number...

I don't like to sound like a jerk, but this question was typed out in a very confusing way. I assumed 12n = 12*n. I'm not sure people can learn and posters can benefit when questions are not correctly retyped.venmic wrote:This is a good problem to solve try it
