I know This has been discussed before. But the way it was explained was not clear to me. Someone please help. I was able to answer taking help of Mr. Guess. :wink: But Please let me know right methods for doing this kind of DS

This question is basically asking if the line has a negative slope.

The picture shows that a line with a negative slope will at some point intersect Quadrant 2. Note the line drawn and slide it back and forth along the grey shaded arrows. Also, if the line has a positive slope, then it must have a point in quadrant 2 for it to intersect Quadrant 2.

(1) Has negative slope. Sufficient.

(2) The y-intercept is the point (0, -6). This point is not in quadrant 2 nor do we have enough information to determine whether the slope of the line is (+) or (-). Not sufficient.
