A girl took some tamarind seeds and made groups of five with them, and found that one seed was left over. She tried making groups of four and six. Eachtime one seed was left over. What is the smallest number of seeds girl had?

Is it 61?

LCM of 4, 5 and 6

4 = 2 x 2
5 = 5
6 = 3 x 2

LCM = 2 x 2 x 3 x 5 = 60

add 1 to this for them to always have a remainder of 1.

61
