Hey All,

I am trying to decide whether I should use an admissions consultant. They are INCREDIBLY expensive...I am not sure whether they are really worth it. The base price, which I am seeing, is about $250.00 per hour.

If I did accept this, the only amount I could afford is about 8 hours. That is all. Does anyone have any idea whether this is enough?

Anyway, does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Thanks so much,
Angie

maybe you can use their services for something such as essay editing... that way it's not as expensive

Hi Angie,
You can actually do a lot with eight hours -- it depends on how much preparation you've already put into the application.
Every admissions consultant does it differently, (rather, every admissions consulting service does it differently) -- some charge by the school, and some do charge by the hour.

I think a number of admissions consultants (including me!) about what kind of services we can offer within your budget and your time frame. I, for one, would be happy to explore it with you. There is definitely a learning curve, and if we worked together on just a few essays, you can apply what you learn to the other essays (but no cutting and pasting!)

With very best regards,
