Hi Experts,
I gave my GMAT again Yesterday, but ended up getting the same score of 610(q43,v31). I had put in all my efforts into GMAT,but could not get better of it. I wanted to know what chances do I stand with my current GMAT score. Also, since I have taken GMAT twice, I dont think I can write it for the third time. My profile is as below.

GMAT- 610 (q43,v31)
Total Professional experience-Currently 3yrs will be 4 by the time i join colleges.I am working with a IT company in India as a Tech Lead for a support project,team size of 15.
During my high school and college was running my family business for 6 yrs before joining the current company.
No other extra curricular as only thing that i did during my college days was look into my father's business.
Have a GPA of 3.4 and am a Bachelor of Engineering graduate.
Post MBA goals- Want to become a ERP sales manager/ business analyst, which will enable me to use my present professional experience.

Colleges I am planning to apply.

Also Please let me know if i should apply to MS programs in MIS,Marketing as well. I want to do ERP sales post MBA and hence wanted to know if there are any MS courses for the same.Currently I have not looked into the colleges. Without Scholarship i will not be able to pursue MBA as the fees are not within my reach

Hi

You will have to appear for GMAT again for chances that will not be jeopardized because of the low GMAT score. Try clearing with a post 650 score.

Who said you cant appear again??

Realistically you will find difficulty in getting through these colleges.

Hi ThroughMBA,
Thanks for evaluating my profile. What i meant was that i dont think I have the capability to write GMAT again and get a good score. I gave GMAT twice and both the times ended up getting the same score of 610 with the same cutoff q43,v31. In all my practice tests i never got a score below 650, but everytime when i write GMAT the score reduces drastically

Well then, you know the answer to your question

No point in taking the GMAT again.

And actually for the programs you have proposed, you are in pretty fine shape. You are well within the 80% average of the schools and somewhere near the median score, so bravo for choosing for yourself good, yet realistic programs.

One final thought for you: I'd take a look into applying with family business relates career goals, especially if the business is relatively large. Schools like family business people (and with good reason)

You can definitely vouch for the scholarship.
Just keep the following things in mind...

1. The theme of your essay is almost always determined by the purpose of the award or why the organization is giving away the money.Once you know this, you can choose which aspect of your life to highlight in the essay.

2. Answer the real question the scholarship judges want addressed.

3. As you are explaining why you deserve to win, it is important that you also reveal something about yourself. Obviously, in the short space of 500 to 1,000 words, you can't cover everything about you. This is why one of the most effective techniques is to share a "slice of your life."

4. Make them care for your situation by an essay well-written, honest, and describe something meaningful about you

5. Don't "Thesaurize" Your Composition...use clear stories, vivid picture.
