On Sunday morning, a printing press printed its newspapers at a constant rate from 1AM to 4AM. How many newspapers did the printing press print on Sunday?

1)The printing rate on Saturday morning was twice the rate on Sunday morning
2)On Saturday morning, the printing press ran at a constant rate from 1AM to 3AM, stopped for half an hour, and then ran at the same constant rate from 3:30AM to 5:30AM printing a total of 4000 newspapers.

to Find Rate on Sunday

Statement 1:
Rate on Sat = 2 * Rate on Sun
INSUFFICIENT

Statement 2:
4000 = (R) * 4
Rate on Sat = 1000
No relation between Rate of SUn & Sat
INSUFFICIENT

Combining...
Sufficient

We need the total number of papers printed on sunday:

1) only tells us that saturday rate =2 sunday rate....clearly insufficient. We need hard numbers.
2) On saturday printing press printed 4000 papers in 4 hours so 1000 in 1 hours, but we don't know anything about the sunday's rate.

Combining both together we get that sundays rate is 500 papers per hour or 1500 paper whole day.
So answer should be C
