Q) For positive integers k , the function g is defined by g(k) = C^k+ 2, where C is a constant.What is the value of g(2)?

(1) g(4) = 18
(2) g(5) = -30

Correct answer is D

Is it g(k) = (C^k)+ 2 or g(k) = C^(k+ 2)?

Hi,
From(1):
c^4 + 2 = 18 =>c^4 = 16.
So, c^2 = 4
g(2) = c^2 + 2 = 6
Sufficient
From(2):
c^5 + 2 = -30 => c^5 = -32
=> c = -2
So, g(2) = c^2 + 2 = (-2)^2 + 2 = 6
Sufficient

Hence, D
