easy Rate problem

Joe Drives at 40 miles/hour to reach his office which is 240 miles away. If he increases his speed by 50 % , the travel time will decrease by :

This i very easy problem but i wanted to know the quick procedure to solve it.

This is the way how i solved it ..

s1 = 40 m/h t1
s2 = 60 m/h t2

s1t1 = s2t2

40 t1 = 60 t2

t2 = 40/60 t1

= 2/3 t1

= .33 t1

hence the time will decrease by 33%.
i even do not know the answer is it correct?

What was initially taking Joe 6 hours, is now taking him 4 hours only; a decrease of 2 in 6 as a percent is

= 2/6 times 100

= 33.33... percent.

Your method and answer both are fine, if I could ignore that you haven't made the best use of the information supplied and that 2/3 is not .33.
