One day's milk is nothing but 30 gallon*6 hr*60(min per hr) = 30*6*60 gallons
P and Q together can produce 30+45 = 75 gallon/min and Q alone 45 gallon/min
Both "P& Q" and only Q operating for equal time and produce 75+45 = 120 gallons/min or 120*60 gallons/hr

So net hrs together is 30*6*60/120*60 = 1.5 hrs
But they are not operating at the same time. So no of hrs operated is 1.5*2 = 3 hrs

Total milk processed = Y gallons
Time taken to process Y gallons = 2x hrs
Q Plant - Able to process in 4 hrs Y gallon so in x hrs will process Y/4 *x
Q & P together - in 2.4 hrs y gallon so in x hrs Y/2.4*x
Yx/4 + Yx/2.4 = Y dividing by Y
x/4 + x/2.4 = 1
x = 1.5 2x = 3
