This is a topic that I have consistently struggled with. Just can't seem to wrap my head around this concept. I have seen some of the forum messages on Beat The Gmat on Data Sufficiency, and have seen how some of the experts break the problem down into two parts; solve each data point individually; and finally solve the entire problem. But I'm still not able to do well on DS.

What are some of the ways I can change my method of study/practice to:
a) learn what I'm doing wrong
b) improve on that

Most people have 12 or more years answering PS-style questions in which you answer a math question and then find the correct answer from a list of answers. In comparison, your experience with DS-style questions is negligible, since you probably just learned of this strange question type a few weeks ago.

It will take time and considerable practice to master DS questions. Keep at it.
