a necklace is made by stringing N individual beads together in the repeating pattern red bread, green bead, white bead, blue bead, and yellow bead. if the necklace design begins with a red bead and ends with a white bead, then N could equal

a. 16
b. 32
c. 41
d. 54
e. 68


answer is E

N/5=q+3/5

N=5q+3
N= 5 x 13 + 3
N=68

if it ends with a white, you have lets say X full sequences of 5 beads and a portion made of 3 beads.

Basically you are looking for a number that is divisible by 5 with a remainder of 3

there is only 68 that fulfills such condition=>E
