I dont agree with the OA.IMO ans is option A

From 1
W>2 and wz<2..this is possible only when z<1 for all other z,WZ>2...sufficient

From 2
z<2..no information about w
Let w=1 and z=1..so wz=1 <2
w=1 z=3/2..so wz=3/2 <2
w=1 z=1/2..so wz=1/2 <2
no conclusion can be drawn whether z<2...not sufficient.

Can you please provide the official explanation.may be I am missing something.

I go with A as well.
Unless the question says w and z are positive integers...only then...can it be D
