Here is another one that I don't understand. Can some one elaborate on this problem. thanks

IF r, s, and t are all positive, what is the ratio of r to s to t?

1. r - s=2s and(t - 2s)^2 = 0
2. r=6 and t=8^ - 1

Statement (1)

1. r - s=2s and(t - 2s)^2 = 0

r=3s we can find r/s from this

(t-2s) (t-2s) = 0 => t-2s = 0 i.e t=2s we can get the ratio s/t from this

With r/s ratio and s/t we can find r:s:t

SUFFICIENT

Staement (2) INSUFF Just gives value of r and t
No info & provides no way to find a ratio between r,s and t

A)

OA please?

Davy,
I am sure you would get problems right too; its just a matter of time. Making mistakes is good in the learning process i.e next time we wont.

I used to make mistakes all the time too (by overlooking facts & not considering all possible values to determine sufficiency etc..) Even now I do. its all in the game(part of learning)

If u read through some of DS posts here u will learn a lot.(i.e how one approaches the problem; different value ranges to be considered for different problems etc)

Practice OG probs and try to read through the explanation and if u still have doubts post it here. There are so many experts / users(like me not an expert for sure) on this site and your question will be answered.

Let me know if u have any more questions. Good luck! You will do good!
