Alternate Trancscript--What Classes to Take?

by VIP » Fri Dec 28, 2007 10:53 am
Hi Amy,
Thank you for replying to my post about my profile...I have almost completed my applications. The realism of my profile has set in, and realize that i am longshot for almost any school i want to attend. (Mccombs, Emory, Georgetown)

I think i am great MBA canidate, but my gpa and undergrad transcript is horrible. I have Ds and Fs in my calculus courses, and a C in statitistics. I have 710 (47Q, 40V) GMAT, and great career progression...i just need to show i can do the coursework.

What classes do you reccomend i take to build an alternate transcript? Do the UC extention classes hold value? or should i try to take them at a community college?

I want to start ASAP, so i can go for R1 next year.

Thanks for your help.

Hi VIP,

I just posted a sticky on ways to deal with a low GPA that may help you. You'll definitely want to re-take the classes that received a grade lower than C. UC extension is great, community college is great - really any school that will provide college level classes and a transcript.

Good luck!
