Area of rectangular floor \(= 8 \cdot 10 = 80\)

Area of a piece of carpet square \(= 2 \cdot 2 = 4\)

Number of pieces of carpet square required is \(= \dfrac{80}{4} = 20\)

Thus the total cost of Carpet square required to cover the rectangular floor will be \(20 \cdot 12 = \$240\)
