Is |x|=|y|?
(1) x - y = 6
(2) x + y = 0

OA B

Statement I many possibilities - Hence Insufficient

Statement II sum of +- of any number will give you a 0
Hence B

Is this approach correct?

stmt 1) x-y =6 => x=y+6. That means absolute value of x and y can never be same because of +6.
stmt 2) x+y = 0 => x = -y. So absolute value of x and y will also be same.
For ex. x =2 and y=-2, then absolute value will be same for both x and y and it is true for every integer.

Thus statement 2 is sufficient.

If there is some other way of solving it, please post.

-thanks
