Just find the area of the square, then subtract the green, blue, and orange triangles, all of which have nice right angles to allow us to find base and height.
You could also notice that the red triangle (the one we want) is an isosceles, get the lengths of each side, and use the formula for the area of an isosceles triangle, but where's the fun in that?
