Investment revenue = 53
Subsidaryies revenue = 246
Total Revenue = 1052

Investment and Subsidaries combined as a percentage of total revenue can be given as:
$$\frac{53+246}{1052}\cdot100=\frac{299}{1052}\cdot100$$
In the GMAT we do not need exact answers, we need to find the closest possible estimate in very less time so we simplify as:
$$\frac{299}{1052}\cdot100\ \approx\frac{300}{1000}\cdot100=30\%$$
28.4% is very close to 30% therfeore that is our answer.
