Say Company \(M\) ordered a computers and b printers and Company \(N\) ordered x computers and y printers. Thus, we have

a + b = 50 and x + y = 60

We have to get the value of b.

Let's take each statement one by one.

1) Company \(M\) and Company \(N\) ordered the same number of computers.

a = x. However, we can't get the value of b. Insufficient.

2) Company \(N\) ordered 10 more printers than Company \(M\).

y = b + 10. However, we can't get the value of b. Insufficient.

(1) and (2) together

Plugging-in a = x and y = b + 10 in x + y = 60, we get a + b + 10 = 60 => a + b = 50. We in turn get the same equation that we already have. No unique value of b is possible. Insufficient.

The correct answer: E

Hope this helps!
