ratio with geometry

(A picture of a triangle that looks like an equilateral with side T )

(a picture of a square with side S)


If the 2 region above have the same area, what is the ratio T:S?

answer is 2: 4 SQRT 3

now how on earth do you get that from a figure?

same area B(H)/2 S^2

so, 4(4)/2=8 4^2=8

SO 4:4 .......i DONT KNOW PLEASE HELP

Area of the square = S^2
Area of the equilateral triangle = Sqrt(3)/2 T^2

These two are equal => S^2= Sqrt(3)/2 T^2
=> S^2/T^2 =Sqrt(3)/2
=> S/T = Sqrt (Sqrt(3)/2)
T/S = Sqrt (2/Sqrt(3))

Please upload the picture to check if the triangle is really equilateral ...
