STRATEGY: As with all GMAT Problem Solving questions, we should immediately ask ourselves, Can I use the answer choices to my advantage?
In this case, we can easily test the answer choices.
Now we should give ourselves up to 20 seconds to identify a faster approach.
In this case, we can also solve the question algebraically.
Since testing the answer choices is incredibly easy, that's what I'll do

We'll start with answer choice C ($2.00)
If the largest pot costs $2.00, then the 2nd largest pot costs $1.75, the 3rd largest pot costs $1.50, and so on.
So, if the largest pot costs $2.00, then the TOTAL cost of all six pots = $2.00 + $1.75 + $1.50 + $1.25 + $1.00 + $0.75 = $8.25. Perfect!!

Answer: C
