Hi Guys,

Does anyone have a list of questions with answers specifically targeted at picking number and backsolving strategies?

I realize and I am not using these 2 powerful strategies so I think I could greatly reduce the time spent on some quant questions if I get comfortable using these 2 strategies. At the moment, it is very difficult to finish the quant section of the GMAT on time and most of the time I end up guessing the last 5 to 10 questions...

Many thanks,
kourousafama

Hi,

I'm sure that most of us do not categorize questions based on picking numbers and backsolving. Basically, picking numbers strategy is used for Data Sufficiency whereas backsolving is used for Problem Solving.

However, you may try out any Inequality DS questions for practising "picking numbers". For example, you may pick numbers in the range of 0 to 1 / -1 to 0 when you face an inequality question. For Problem Solving, I guess you can try any question to backsolve. My suggestion for PS is - when you practice a PS question, try both conceptual/traditional way and backsolving way.
