Improve RC in two days?

by shurale » Wed Jun 05, 2013 3:16 pm
Hi,

So my GMAT test is on Saturday, and I just took Veritas CAT. The score is 630 (Q44,V33), which is not that bad, since I need a result of 600-650 (the more the better, obv).
The thing is that I had 77% correct on CR, 57% on SC and only 36% correct on RC, and it actually does show which parts I feel more confident about in general. So I wonder if it is possible to somehow improve RC (and SC) part in just two days? (not a native english speaker)

Thanks!

Now that your test is only 1 day away, I'll give you the only advice I can think of that can be implemented (and practiced) in 24 hours.

When it comes to Reading Comprehension (RC), it's crucial that you engage 100% in the passage. So, rather than approach a new passage with dread ("I don't enjoy reading this at all"), try to feign interest ("Excellent- this passage is about stock market regulations in Mexico!! I've always wanted to learn more about this!"). The better your engagement, the better the results.

You'll find additional tips to help you better engage with the passage in this free video: https://www.gmatprepnow.com/module/gmat- ... on?id=1123

Thank you, Brent, you really helped me! I got 690 on a test (Q48,V37) and I like my result.
