Hi,

As most of us have an Indian background and we are based out of India, we feel we can evaluate your profile quite well.

- Your GMAT Score is near perfect. This will not put you at any disadvantage at all. it would be better if you gave us a score breakdown though. However, the only disadvantage if any, would be that sometimes the adcoms are cautious with people having a very high GMAT score and make sure these students aren't overly into their studies/are too bookish etc.

- As you have quoted a GPA, we are assuming you went to school in a foreign country. Your GPA is very good.

- Your 10 national awards sound excellent. But it is essential as to what these awards are and when you received them. If they are concentrated in one particular time period, it wouldn't be looked at too favourably. If spread out, excellent

- Your extra currics seem to be less, or maybe you haven't mentioned them properly here. This is the only weak point in the profile, and is a very important point nonetheless.

- Yes! Entrepreneurship definitely counts as good work experience. however, if this is a company your dad founded and you worked in it, please don't forget to mention that you were in a family business. Do not misrepresent information. However, your revenues are impressive (adcoms are aware of exchange rates and what figure corresponds to what in a country) and this would definitely be a plus.

All in all your profile is very competitive, and becomes super competitive if your extra currics are great as well.

Hope this helps. All the best.

Regards

Hi,

You got a 94 percent in your bachelors degree? That is unbelievable. If you studied in India, we don't even think that's possible. Anywhere actually, because the GPA is a relative allocation. Kudos however.

Also, you cannot convert your GPA on your own. In fact even the universities would not convert it to a GPA. They are well acquainted with each Country's education system and know for eg: that in India, a 60% plus is a first class degree and good enough. They would also know that a 94% is unattainable. We are still perplexed about this point.

Your extra currics lack leadership. You have great personal achievement, and unique as well such as the book you authored. But leadership (in teams, apart from your venture) is lacking. You should address this.

All the best. Hope this helps.

Hi,

94 percent in engineering is truly bewildering. Please don't get us wrong here, but the US colleges are well aware of the percentages students get in courses such as engineering. Even IIT Toppers don't really exceed 8.9 on their GPA scales (there might just be 9 pointers but we havent met any) and that also when its a Compared scale i.e. reflecting performance based on that of the entire class, relatively. We suspect this percentage will be looked down upon, keeping in mind the Indian education system. Because even in the most lenient colleges of India, for engineering, 94% is unheard of.

Anyways, please dont get this wrong. If you have a 94%, good for you in terms of academic achievement. But until and unless this is a reputed college (IIT, BITS, DCE etc.) the adcoms will have a tough time accepting 94%. Your extremely high GMAT score reflects your intelligence, but do remember that they know about the India System in detail and depth.

Leadership qualities generally entail leading groups of people in various activities. There's no set criteria as such. Range from roles of school captain, to team manager, to heading a community etc.
