Some GMAT queries.. Please help !

by nimitdoshi » Mon Oct 06, 2008 12:32 am
Hi,
I am taking the exam next month.. I have some doubts and would appreciate help on the same.
Firstly, I wanted to know if GMAT prep and Powerprep is the same thing? Because all that I could download from the site was GMAT prep.
Secondly, after you have taken the GMAT prep once, how can u take the test again and get different questions? Do u need to download the software from the site and then run it to get different questions?
And thirdly, is the optional break 5 mins or 10 mins? I have heard contradictory stuff about the same? And what else you need to carry to the test centre besides the passport? U need the appointment letter as well?
I would really appreciate help on the above.. Thanks !

nimitdoshi,

GMATPrep is the official practice test from mba.com. PowerPrep is the old software that used to be offered by ETS, the previous test administers. You can download PowerPrep online; you'll just have to google it. The questions in PowerPrep are questions from older exams, however the user interface is different. GMATPrep's user interface is pretty much exactly like the real test.

GMATPrep comes with two exams. I've heard of people un-installing the software and reinstalling it to take the test again, but you will likely see repeat questions anyway. There isn't a way to see a completely different test as I believe the number of questions the software has is limited.

10 min break during the test.

Good luck!
