I just took a practice exam from Kaplan and scored a 55 on the verbal section!

Obviously I am pleased but I'm just assuming that it is not a good indicator of the real thing. Is a V 55 even possible on the real GMAT?

Technically a score of 55 is possible. You would need to outstanding to get that score. Probably you are :D Check your performance on GMAT prep test - the best available score indicator today.

I took GMAT prep #1 at the beginning of my studies and scored a 41 so I am confident in my verbal skills. But I was still really surprised when I saw that score on the Kaplan test. I have heard some say that their verbal isn't indicative of the real thing though. So I am not putting too much wait behind it.

I know their quant is supposed to be hard but I am not sure how people view the Kaplan verbal.

I think I am going to save the second GMAT prep exam for when I am a few weeks away from the exam.

Now the mission is to bring the math score up from the 50th percentile!

No, it is not possible to get a 55 scaled score in either section of the GMAT. 51 is the highest possible score.

Thant's right. 51 is highest "achievable" score.
