I narrowed the attached CR to A or D

Guessed correctly, OA is A.

Anyone have any thoughts?

it seems as though answer D is not addressing the imbalance... thats why i picked A

I agree with the OA... The other answer is incorrect because RELATIVE effectiveness is not discussed, i.e. effectiveness of one method vs. the other. You explanation also works, I guess.

Look for the term " only" in the argument.
Medication is applicable only when chemical imbalance occurs and others could be resolved by pscychotherapy.
Thsi is wat exactly stated in Option A and that serves to be our answer!!

It wuld be nice when we look for some " keywords" in the question itself. I have seen so many tricky questions where the answer lies with the "positioning" of words in the argument!!
