(1) x^2+6x+9=0

(2) x^2+7x−21>0

The OA is the option A.

Can someone show me how can I prove that the correct option is A? I'd be thankful.

What's the source of this question?
On the GMAT, the statements will never contradict each other.
In the above question, statement 1 tells us that x definitely equals 3, and statement 2 tells us that x definitely does NOT equal 3
