If f is one factor of a prime p, then what is f?

(1) The two factors of p differ by 12.

(2) The two factors of p sum up to 14.

As p is prime, it has only two factors: 1 and p
Hence, f is equal to either 1 or p.

Statement 1: (p - 1) = 12 => p = 13
Possible values of f are 1 and 13

Not sufficient

Statement 2: (p + 1) = 14 => p = 13
Possible values of f are 1 and 13

Not sufficient

1 & 2 Together: Possible values of f are 1 and 13

Not sufficient

The correct answer is E.
