Total cost of the 5 filters purchased individually = $10.45 + $10.45 + $12.05 + $12.05 + $17.50 = $62.50
Cost of filter kit = $57.50

The amount saved by purchasing the kit is what percent of the total price of the 5 filters purchased individually?
Amount saved = $62.50 - $57.50 = $5.00

Desired percent = (100)($5.00)/$62.50 = 8%

Answer: B

Answer: B
Solution:

The total cost of the 5 filters when purchased individually is:

2 x 10.45 + 2 x 12.05 + 17.50

20.90 + 24.10 + 17.50

$62.50

Therefore, the amount saved when purchasing them together in a kit is 62.50 - 57.50 = $5, and this is 5/62.5 = 0.08 = 8% of the total cost of the filters when purchased individually.

Answer: B
