Quadrilateral RSTU shown above is a site plan for a parking lot in which side RU is parallel to side ST and RU is longer than ST. What is the area of the parking lot?

1) RU = 80 meters
2) TU = 20 * sqrt(10) meters

the figure can be broken into a 45 x 60 rectangle in the middle, a 15 x 60 right triangle on the left(SWR), and an unknown right triangle on the right with height 60 and base unknown. To find the area, we need a way to figure out the base of that unknown triangle. Notice that we already know that 15 and 45 make up the rest of RU, so knowing the entire length of RU would allow us to determine the unknown portion that makes up the base of the triangle on the right. The illustrated solution below is taken from the GMATFix App.
