During Christmas season, The Broadway Theater at New York City is offering special discounts on all its tickets for a fun show. Now, a balcony ticket for the fun show there costs a youngster only $11 whereas it costs an adult only $23. Family X, which includes adults and youngsters only, booked balcony tickets for the entire family to watch the fun show at The Broadway Theater at New York City. If the number of youngsters in the Family X does not exceed 8, how many youngsters does the Family X have?

(1) The tickets booked for the fun show cost the Family X $124 in total.

(2) The fun show tickets booked for the adults in the Family X cost $14 more than it cost to the youngsters in the Family X.

(1) The tickets booked for the fun show cost the Family X $124 in total.

Given that no of youngsters is not more than 8.

y*11 + A*23 = 124

Plugin values for Y. Y=5 is the only value which give A=3. Others will yield a non-integer.
Hence Sufficient.

(2)The fun show tickets booked for the adults in the Family X cost $14 more than it cost to the youngsters in the Family X.

23* A - 11 * Y =14

The only value that will yield integer is y=5.
Sufficient.

Hence D is the answer.

Good answer mathrupradeep. Just one question: Is the information in bold important to crack the question? If yes, then how?
