Study Strategy -what works best???

I wanted to know any thoughts on the best study strategy for the GMAT. I have between 3-4 months available to prepare. I was wondering what may work best, study a topic then do a series of practice questions immediately after? How often in between should I take the practice full length online test?

I saw a few postings on this site about an excel document that others have used to document the questions they get correct and incorrect...does anyone have a link to that so that I may use?

You can go for as many full length test , provided you are not just giving tests , evaluate your mistakes , timings and accuracy . Identify the weak areas and work on them while keeping the strength polished . To start with brush up all the concepts and then start solving questions , if you are good with accuracy make the effort timed one . Slowly and gradually increase the difficulty level of your practice . If u ever feel bored or tired [you are bound to feel so at a point of time] , then take GMAT as a game

I purchased the Quantitative package from MGMAT because I'm weaker in Math than I am in Verbal. I haven't received the books yet, but I plan to use them to learn good strategy skills and apply those skills to the practice questions in the book combined with the practice questions from the Official Guide (12th ed) to nail down the concepts. I plan to apply the same technique when studying for the verbal section.

Is that what you mean when you say brush up on all concepts and then start solving questions?

Yeah you seem to have a good plan , go through OG's and the materials you are buying i.e. MGMAT . Work on your weakness but do not neglect your strength. Good luck with your preparation.
