(A) 8.8%

(E) 8.4%

The OA is C.

I'm confused with this PS question. Experts, any suggestion about how to solve it? Thanks in advance.

15 kg 12% chromium is combined with 35 kg 8% chromium to form a 50 kg alloy.
Average percent chromium for the entire 50 kg = (15*12 + 35*8)/50 = 460/50 = 46/5 = 9.2.

The correct answer is C.
