If $\sqrt{3x+4}=x$, what is the value of $x?$

A. $-4$
B. $-2$
C. $1$
D. $2$
E. $4$

Squaring both sides, we have:

3x + 4 = x^2

x^2 - 3x - 4 = 0

(x - 4)(x + 1) = 0

x = 4 or x = -1

Answer: E
