Are the two nonzero integers \(x\) and \(y\) on opposite sides of \(0\) on the number line?

Statement 1\(: x+y = 0\)
or, \(x=-y\)
This indicates that \(x \& y\) are on opposite sides of \(0\) on the number line (\(x \& y\) are non-zero.) Sufficient \(\Large{\color{green}\checkmark}\)

Statement 2 \(: xy < 0\)
This indicates that \(x \& y\) are on opposite sides of \(0\) on the number line. Sufficient \(\Large{\color{green}\checkmark}\)
