Six cards numbered from 1 to 6 are placed in an empty bowl. First one card is drawn and then put back into the bowl; then a second card is drawn. If the cards are drawn at random and if the sum of the numbers on the cards is 8, what is the probability that one of the two cards drawn is numbered 5 ?

B. 51
C. 31
D. 52

some thing is wrong about the choices. I get 1/3 as the answer

I have rectified the choices.
However your answer is incorrect.
I was able to solve now.
The answer will be 2/5.
total possible cases so that sum is 8 are: (2,6) (6,2) (3,5) (5,3) (4,4).
you have to choose only (3,5) and (5,3)
hence 2/5

mah bad, i counted (4,4) twice
