Hello everybody. Thanx for all the advice i've read over the last couple months.
This my first post on this site, although i've spent much time reading people's different responses.
I took the gmat in on Feb. 7, 2008 and got a low score of 620
I retook it today (May 2, 2008) and got a much higher 700.

In all my practices tests, i never got anything higher than a 690.

My practice tests were as follows.
Gmat prep 1: 680
Gmat prep 2: 690
Kaplan CD CAT 1: 560
Kaplan CD CAT 2: 590
Kaplan CD CAT 3: 600
Kaplan CD CAT 4: 560

Actual GMAT: 700 45Q, 40V

If it weren't for these posts, i wouldn't have realized how inaccurate Kaplan's test are. Although i believe they're great for preparation and test stamina.

But that's my success story. I'm just an ordinary joe blow. If i can crack 700 then i'm positive anyone can with enough hard work.

Congratulations!!. A 80 point improvement is quite impressive, particularly when you are moving from the 600's to the 700's. Best of luck with the rest of your B School journey.

Kaplan CATs

Belva, thanks for sharing your encouraging story! I too have found the questions on the Kaplan tests to be much harder than other prep questions. I took Kaplan's Premier Program Online CAT and did OK on it, but struggled with the Kaplan CAT 1 on the CD. Did you think that Kaplan's Online practice test was easier than the ones on the CD? Does anyone know if that one is actually computer-adapted?

Anyway, congrats on your great score and best of luck with your applications!
