60 minutes x 3 cubic feet/minute = 180 cubic feet

The pool is a 12 foot square. So the area of the surface of the pool is 144 feet. In other words, if the depth were 1 foot 0 inches, the pool would hold 144 cubic feet of water.

180/144 = 15/12 = 5/4 = 1 1/4

So the pool must be 1 1/4 feet deep. 1 foot = 12 inches 1/4 foot = 3 inches

The depth of the pool is 1 foot 3 inches.

The correct answer is C.
